I had the opportunity to visit this Omakase spot with a good friend who lives in town. We were very happy with the sushi that was brought out, and the price point for New York City was reasonable. The chefs have a real talent for creating the perfect bite. However, there were a few pitfalls. The Sake we ordered was terrible, and the Sapporo was stale. Additionally, the hostesses, who doubled as waitresses, weren't very attentive and seemed lackluster in their presentation of the different dishes. This might be related to the restaurant's no-tipping policy, which, while making it an authentic Japanese experience, may impact the quality of service in the American marketplace. Maybe it's possible they were having an off day, and I might be reading too much into it. All said, I'll definitely be coming back, and hope my next experience is better than my last.

Came here most recently for the lunch omakase special ($38 including tip/tax), and it did not disappoint. The fish is fresh, and comes out fast. If you're looking for an exciting creative omakase place this is not for you. Sushi W is definitely straight forward in both its decor (small and very standard sushi bar) and it's flavor profiles a, but is delicious and affordable. I've also had the basic dinner set ($53) and it was delicious as well. My favorite piece is the scallop- super sweet and delicious, or the Amberjack. Will definitely be coming back for the lunch deal! Make sure you get a reservation in advance though, because they only have about 10 seats, and it fills up even on the weekdays.

Phenomenal omakase for a fair price. Such great quality of fish and rice! Need to try the lunch special, but dinner was swell! Get the premium! Cheers!
